This event runs throughout the day but is punctuated with a brief ceremony at noon where the names of Patrolman killed during the draft riots will be read. Those with time and interest to learn more are invited to visit this historic National Memorial before or after (10 AM to 4 PM) to explore the Federal Hall Building and speak with reenactors (persons dressed in period clothing, including Police & Marine uniforms) who will be presenting living history programs. It is recommended that you bring children as this is a rare opportunity to relive history. Take the train to Wall Street. The main entrance of Federal Hall is located at the corner of Wall and Nassau Streets. The noon memorial will be held in the main rotunda.

In addition to truly magnificent architecture, this building holds much history including the fact that George Washington was inaugurated here. In addition, the building once served as the US Sub-Treasury (predecessor to the Federal Reserve Bank.) Also recommended and in walking distance from Federal Hall is a visit to the George Gustav Heye Center of the National Museum of the American Indian (NMAI). Admission to both of these facilities is free. However members of the service are advised that you may experience difficulty entering the NMAI if armed. I hope to see you there.

Fraternally,
Joe Wolff
